Pfluger to the U.S. government: “Show us the receipts”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tuesday, House Foreign Affairs Committee Member Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) voted to advance H. Res. 1482 in the full Committee Markup. The Resolution of Inquiry—put forward by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-14)—requests that President Biden, the U.S. Defense Department, and the U.S. State Department deliver reports to Congress regarding U.S. taxpayer dollars sent to Ukraine from January 20, 2021, to November 15, 2022.

Rep. August Pfluger delivered impassioned remarks and released a statement in support of the measure: “The United States stands unequivocally against Russia's war on Ukraine, but that does not mean we should not have a full accounting of American taxpayer dollars overseas. As someone who served in combat, I would like to know the effectiveness of the aid that the U.S. has sent to Ukraine—a measure I supported. We are simply asking the U.S. government to show us the receipts.”
