Congressman Pfluger Holds Local Swearing-In Ceremony

MIDLAND, TX — Thursday morning, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) was sworn in at a local ceremony in Midland as the U.S. Representative for the 29 counties of the 11th District of Texas. Congressman Pfluger was sworn in by U.S. District Judge David Counts at the George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush U.S. Courthouse in Midland, Texas. After taking the oath, he delivered remarks and released a statement following the event:

"The 11th District of Texas is special. It is a critical intersection of national security for our country. Home to the largest oil and gas producing region in the Nation, over 15 million acres of farm and ranch land, multiple premiere universities—both public and private—and a world-class Air Force Base that trains service members from every branch of our military for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. We quite literally supply this country with the food, fuel, and fiber that powers our Nation and feeds the American people.

"But more important than contributing energy, agriculture, and military training, the 11th District is home to the absolute best people in the world, and I could not be more humbled and honored to represent them in Congress. To everyone in the 11th District: thank you for trusting me with this responsibility—I am determined to work hard every day to be a strong voice and advocate for you in Washington."

The 11th Congressional District of Texas includes of all of Andrews, Brown, Callahan, Coke, Coleman, Comanche, Concho, Dawson, Eastland, Ector, Glasscock, Hood, Irion, Kimble, Llano, Martin, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Midland, Mills, Mitchell, Palo Pinto, Runnels, San Saba, Sterling and Tom Green counties and parts of Erath and Stephens counties.
