MIDLAND, TX — Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) welcomed Secretary of Energy Chris Wright to the Permian Basin to showcase the region's role in fueling the nation and the world. The Secretary's visit was part of the Department of Energy's "Great American Energy Comeback Tour."

The tour began with a rig site visit, where cutting-edge technology and innovation continue to drive record-breaking energy production across the Permian Basin. Following the site visit, they both addressed a rally at the Bush Convention Center in Midland alongside leaders in the American energy industry. During his remarks, Congressman Pfluger celebrated the resilience and continued growth of American energy production in West Texas. He also applauded Secretary Wright and the Trump Administration for their support of the Permian Basin.

"The Permian Basin isn't just fueling America — it's powering the world, and no one does it better," said Congressman Pfluger (TX-11). "Because of the skill of our workforce and the innovation driving this industry, West Texas is producing more energy today than at any point in our history.
