Rep. Pfluger Recognizes Eden CISD, Concho County Hospital, and Howard College Big Spring at Community Town Hall

EDEN, TX — Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) hosted a community town hall in Eden, where he highlighted local successes, addressed the ongoing shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security, and opened the floor to hear directly from the voices that matter most.

Congressman Pfluger recognized Eden CISD Counselor Geneva Garza, Eden CISD School Nurse Kim Miller, Concho County Hospital, and Howard College Big Spring for launching an innovative Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program. Beginning in the next school year, Eden CISD students will have the opportunity to graduate high school with a CNA certification to jump-start their career. The Concho County Hospital stepped up in a big way to make this program possible by generously donating the medical equipment for students to complete the necessary hands-on learning.

"It was great to be in Eden this week. I was honored to recognize the incredible partnership between Eden CISD, Concho County Hospital, and Howard College Big Spring to launch a Certified Nursing Assistant program at Eden CISD. This program will equip students with immediate employment opportunities in their community and help bridge the gap in rural health care staffing. I am confident this program will thrive, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact it has on the community," said Rep. Pfluger. "Hosting town halls across Texas-11 will always be a top priority of mine. Thank you to everyone who came out to listen, ask questions, and provide feedback on how I can better represent you and your families in Congress."
