The funding will allow Frontera to renovate the historic NAPA building at 100 West San Saba Avenue into a cen tral administrative headquarters. The 6,000-square-foot facility will house the organization’s leadership and administrative teams, expand workforce development and community training space, and further establish Menard as the operational hub of Frontera's rural healthcare network. Congressman Pfluger emphasized the importance of investing in rural communities, stating: “Texas priorities deserve their share of federal support, especially when our area provides the critical food security, energy security, and national security the rest of the country has come to count on. Frontera Healthcare in Menard is a vital resource for patients in need, and this funding will help make necessary improvements to their of- fices and clinics to better serve their patients. I am thankful for all the in- credible men and women who work at Frontera Healthcare and will always support them in their mission to provide world-renowned care to patients. If you have a project you’d like considered for next year’s funding process, the deadline to submit a project is Feb - ruary 27th, so please reach out to my ovce. We're here to serve you and will fight to bring these dollars back home." Two years ago, Frontera made the decision SEE FRONTERA PAGE 3 to relocate its administrative offices from Eden to Menard, signaling a long-term investment in the community. Since that move, Frontera has expanded its presence and economic impact locally, bringing professional jobs and generating significant economic activity while continuing to serve patients across six rural counties. “Menard is not just where we provide care — it is where we lead, plan, and grow as an organization,” said Frontera CEO Mikki Hand. “This investment reflects our confidence in Menard’s future and our belief that strong rural communities deserve strong rural institutions.” Frontera also credited the Menard Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), the Menard City Council, and Tyler Wright; whom were all instrumental in helping secure the NAPA building and supporting the organization’s continued growth in downtown Menard. The organization expressed appreciation to its Board of Directors- especially Menard representatives Collyn Wright and Jay Cunningham- for their leadership in identifying donors and approving the project. Once completed, the renovated Administration and Training Center will provide modern workspace for Frontera’s administrative team while also serving as a valuable resource for the broader Menard community. In addition to housing organizational leadership, the facility will include dedicated meeting and training space that will be made available at no cost to local nonprofit organizations. Frontera plans to host community education programs focused on chronic disease management, CPR certification, nutrition education, and mental health awareness. The building will also feature commercial kitchen space designed for hands-on nutrition instruction and healthy cooking demonstrations. As a centralized hub, the facility will foster collaboration among healthcare providers, emergency services, schools, and other community organizations, further strengthening Menard’s capacity to support the health and well-being of its residents. Frontera encourages the Menard community to watch for continued updates as renovation plans move forward and additional developments take shape.
