Welcome back to the Pfluger Fly-By, a weekly roundup of the work I am doing to represent you and our communities in Congress.
It was a great week in Washington! I voted to secure U.S. elections with the SAVE America Act, defended our law enforcement and ICE agents, delivered remarks to the Energy Workforce and Technology Council, and celebrated the completion of the sterile fly dispersal facility in Texas. I also joined the Joe Pags Show and the KWEL Morning Show hosted by Craig Anderson. At the Republican Study Committee's weekly member meeting, I hosted HUD Secretary Turner, election integrity activist Scott Presler, and EU Ambassador NeliupÅ”ienÄ.
Below, you'll find a few highlights from the week, including pictures, in-depth updates, and information on how my office can help you with any federal concerns. As always, my team and I are here to serve you. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need assistance.
Best,
SAVE America Act Passes the U.S. House
This week, I proudly voted to pass the SAVE America Act to secure U.S. elections. It's common sense that only Americans should be able to vote in American elections, and this legislation ensures just that. It protects and preserves the right of American citizens to vote by requiring individuals provide proof of citizenship to register to vote, and to present a valid photo identification when voting.
The American people gave Republicans a mandate to put our country back on the right track. They gave us one to deliver wins, and the SAVE America Act is exactly that. Every single Democrat who voted no this week proved they would rather let illegal aliens tip the scales in our national elections than protect your vote. Your vote is sacred, and House Republicans have now delivered on our promise to secure it twice. The Senate must get this bill to President Trump's desk without further delay.
Following the vote, I recorded a video on the House steps explaining this important legislation. You can watch it here.
Oversight of the Department of Homeland Security
As Chairman of the House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, I participated in a hearing focused on oversight of DHS agencies and the growing threats facing immigration officers. During the hearing, I called out the radical anti-ICE movement, sanctuary city policies, and the staggering surge in threats against federal law enforcement agents.
ICE Director Lyons also testified that many of his agents are being threatened, doxxed, or harassed, and that there has been an over 8,000 percent increase in death threats. Extremist organizing efforts like "Defend the 612" have encouraged citizens to impede agents. I will continue to provide routine oversight to ensure that federal law enforcement officers are protected as they enforce the laws on the books. Read more on the hearing here.

RSC Members Meeting with HUD Secretary, Scott Presler, and EU Ambassador
I was honored to host Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner, election integrity advocate Scott Presler, and EU Ambassador Jovita NeliupÅ”ienÄ for the Republican Study Committee (RSC) member meeting. They all provided valuable insight into how House conservatives can work hand-in-hand to advance our America First agenda.
Secretary Turner discussed HUD's efforts to reduce regulatory barriers and increase affordable housing through free-market solutions. Scott Presler updated members on grassroots election integrity initiatives nationwide, while Ambassador NeliupÅ”ienÄ outlined opportunities to strengthen transatlantic relations while ensuring our allies share responsibility for collective security. These productive conversations will help guide the RSC's legislative priorities in the months ahead.
Energy Workforce and Technology Council
I enjoyed addressing the Energy Workforce and Technology Council during their annual fly-in this week. We discussed the critical need to develop our domestic energy workforce to meet growing demand here, while also maintaining our competitive edge globally.
As the representative for the Permian Basin, I am committed to advancing policies that will bring stability and certainty for energy producers. Always proud to represent the men and women of the energy industry who keep our lights on and our country fueled.
Texas Sterile Fly Dispersal Facility Completed
I am thrilled that the sterile fly dispersal facility to fight against New World Screwworm (NWS) has been completed in Edinburg, Texas. I applaud Secretary Rollins and the Trump administration for using every tool in its arsenal to detect, control, and eventually eliminate NWS.
This facility will expand USDA's ability to disperse sterile flies along the border and into the United States, if necessary. This is a critical step toward protecting our Texas ranchers and wildlife. Read more about the facility here or by clicking on the image below.
ICYMI: Delivering for Texas-11
The U.S. House of Representatives completed its work to pass all annual funding bills. I proudly secured over $20 million in Texas-11 investments that will go directly to communities across Central and West Texas. These projects will provide local law enforcement with more resources, support health care facilities, improve water and road infrastructure, and much more.
Texans in Washington
I enjoyed meeting with many constituents and leaders in our nation's capital this week. Thank you for your collaboration in making Texas-11 the best place to live and raise a family!

I joined the Joe Pags Show to recap this week's House Committee on Homeland Security's Hearing with Department of Security officials and discuss the SAVE America Act ahead of its vote on the House floor.
