City of San Angelo waiving utility fees for federal employees during shutdown

The City of San Angelo is waiving late fees on utility bills and suspending service shutoffs for federal employees and retirees in response to the federal government shutdown, according to a news release.

"This will only be in effect during the shutdown," the release stated.

To receive the waiver, individuals must visit the City Hall Annex at 301 W. Beauregard Ave. and present a valid government-issued ID.

U.S. Rep. August Pfluger, R-San Angelo, was in the city Thursday afternoon discussing resources for federal employees and military affected by the federal shutdown.
