Pfluger introduces resolution for Barbara Bush’s 100th birthday

U.S. Rep. August Pfluger, R-Texas, introduced a resolution on Friday for Barbara Bush’s 100th birthday, which would have been June 8.

“Barbara Bush exemplified excellence in every aspect of her life, but especially in her role as a public servant. She served our nation with grace and distinction as both Second and First Lady of the United States,” Pfluger said in a statement. “She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a longtime West Texas resident. First Lady Bush was a champion for American literacy, committed to uplifting future generations. Her legacy continues to inspire countless Americans who wish to enter public service. It is an honor to commemorate June 8th, 2025, the 100th Birthday of First Lady Barbara Bush.”

In the U.S. House, the Resolution was co-sponsored by Representatives Jodey Arrington (TX-19), Jake Ellzey (TX-06), Lance Gooden (TX-05), Brian Babin (TX-36), Roger Williams (TX-25), Craig Goldman (TX-12), Randy Weber (TX-14), Ronny Jackson (TX-13), and Don Bacon (NE-02).

Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) plans to introduce a Senate companion of this Resolution.
