Pfluger said he feels very good about the reforms to Medicaid and warned Texans not to fall for false rhetoric about the bill and Medicaid.

“The Medicaid reforms will preserve the program for the intended recipients,” Pfluger said adding it shores it up for the disabled, elderly and pregnant moms. He said states like California and New York who expanded Medicaid to include able-bodied adults and illegal immigrants were wrong to do so.

“Texas did not expand their population..so for Texans this is zero change.”

Pfluger said Medicaid will become better for all after forcing states to give it only to those who it was meant for. He said he has been in constant contact with Texas doctors and hospitals. “I think we nailed it and got it right for Texans.”

He said about 5 p.m. Wednesday that he believes a vote will happen later Wednesday or on Thursday to get it to Trump by July 4.

President Trump’s massive domestic policy bill passed the Senate on Tuesday with changes and now the GOP seeks to approve the final version of the legislation ahead of a July 4 deadline to get the bill to the president’s desk.

House Speaker Mike Johnson told FOX News he is pushing to get the bill passed today.
