WASHINGTON, D.C. (Concho Valley Homepage) — Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) issued a statement Saturday in response to President Donald Trump’s announcement that the U.S. successfully carried out an airstrike on three Iranian nuclear sites.

Pfluger praised the operation, which was carried out by American airmen at the direction of President Trump. In his statement, Pfluger commended the president, the national security team, and the military personnel involved in the mission.

“Today, American airmen executed an operation at the direction of President Trump to eliminate Iranian nuclear facilities,” Pfluger said. “I commend President Trump, the national security team, and the men and women who executed these orders on this successful mission.”

Pfluger also reiterated the U.S. government’s stance on Iran, describing the regime as “the largest sponsor of terrorism.” He emphasized that the choice now rests with Iran’s leadership.

“The Iranian regime is the largest sponsor of terrorism, and the choice is now theirs,” Pfluger said. “I hope they choose peace and a return to normalized society. But one thing is clear, they will not have a nuclear weapon.”

The strike comes amid growing tensions between the U.S. and Iran over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The operation is seen as part of the U.S. administration’s broader strategy to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, which it views as a national security threat.
