Camille and I are immensely grateful that we were reunited with our two daughters, who were attending Camp Mystic at the time of the floods. While we rejoice in their safety, we are simultaneously grieving with everyone across Texas who lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods in the devastating floods that swept through Central and West Texas. The destruction we have witnessed has been heartbreaking, and the pain felt by so many families across our communities is immeasurable.
I am grateful for the first responders, emergency personnel, and volunteers who have worked courageously to save lives, reunite families, and distribute meals and essential resources to flood survivors. Amid the devastation, we continue to have hope and are praying for miracles.
My office and I mobilized immediately to assist residents across Texas-11 affected by the floods. I am thankful that, after lots of hard work from our office, volunteers, and a request from Governor Abbott, several counties in TX-11 were added to President Trump's Major Disaster Declaration to receive varying levels of support from FEMA. This was critical to ensure these communities can receive the support they need.
If these floods impacted you or someone you know and you need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to my office.
Best,
Grieving with Texans After Catastrophic Flooding
Camille and I are grieving alongside all those across Texas who have lost loved ones or been impacted by the catastrophic flooding in Texas-11āespecially our neighbors and fellow Texans in Kerr County.
We are continuing to pray for the Camp Mystic community, the families mourning the unimaginable loss of their daughters and other loved ones, and the family of Dick Eastland. Mr. Eastland no doubt gave his life attempting to save young campers from the floodwaters. For decades, he and his wife Tweety have poured their lives into loving and developing girls and women of character. His legacy will live on through the generations of women he mentored.
Countless heroes acted so bravely during this tragic situationāespecially those who sacrificed for others. Thank you to the Texas Emergency Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), our first responders, and the volunteers who acted swiftly to evacuate campers, counselors, and staff to safety. Our hearts break for the families who are still searching for their loved ones. We continue to pray for every soul affected by this tragedy.
Tom Green, San Saba, Menard, and Kimble Counties Added to Major Disaster Declaration from FEMA
Texas has experienced unimaginable tragedy over the past week from flooding. Several counties were hit especially hard, and while they face a long road to recovery, thankfully, they no longer have to face it alone. I am grateful that President Trump has officially added Tom Green and San Saba counties to the Major Disaster Declaration, allowing them to receive the critical assistance they need. In addition, Kendall, Kimble, Menard, and San Saba Counties were added for Public Assistance, including direct Federal assistance.
A huge thank you to Governor Greg Abbott for his work to ensure more communities across Texas were added to President Trump's Disaster Declaration. My team and I have worked closely with local leaders and officials throughout the week to gather the necessary data to secure this support. Thank you to the first responders across Texas-11 who mobilized immediately to help save lives and the countless other community leaders who have stepped in to help.

Today, I visited Kerr County with President Trump, Governor Abbott, several members of the Texas Congressional Delegation, as well as the Trump administration, and more to participate in a roundtable discussion on the catastrophic flooding in Texas.
I am thankful that President Trump and Governor Abbott invited me to join them in Kerrville today. The Trump administration has been instrumental in ensuring Texas receives the support we need, and I can't thank them enough. I will continue working tirelessly with federal, state, and local officials to ensure we continue supporting all flood survivors in my district and across Texas.
Texas-11 Communities Rally After Flooding
I am truly humbled by the outpouring of support shown to communities across Texas-11 in the aftermath of last weekend's unprecedented flooding.
This week, several members of my team and I were out in various counties that were impacted, assisting flood survivors by logging iSTAT damage surveys, and volunteering at the Disaster Response Center located at PaulAnn Church. If you have been impacted by this flood, please complete an iSTAT survey, which can be found here. Our office can also help connect you with the right resources during this difficult time, so please reach out if you need assistance.
Iām so proud to call San Angelo and Texas-11 home. I'm always proud to be a Texanāespecially in moments like this, when I see our community come together in the moments that matter most.
