Pfluger Fly-By: June 27, 2025

June 27, 2025

Friend,

Welcome back to the weekly Pfluger Fly-By, a roundup of events and updates to keep you informed about everything I'm doing week by week to represent you in Congress.

It was another busy week representing you! This week, my bill to unlock domestic LNG potential advanced through the House Energy and Commerce Committee. I also hosted key Trump Administration Officials at this week's Republican Study Committee meeting. In addition, I penned three op-eds, participated in an Energy and Commerce Environment Subcommittee hearing, joined several shows on Fox and Fox Business to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East, and met with several groups from TX-11.

I've included some photos and highlights from the week below. You'll also find information on how my office can assist you with any federal issues you may be facing. As always, please don't hesitate to contact my office if we can ever be of assistance.

Best,

U.S. House Energy & Commerce Committee Advances My Legislation

This week, my legislation to slash red tape and remove burdensome energy export restrictions imposed by former President Biden was advanced out of the Energy and Commerce Committee, bringing it one step closer to becoming law.

The Unlocking Domestic LNG Potential Act depoliticizes the export of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) by eliminating the requirement for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to authorize its export and instead giving the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) sole authority over the approval process.

One Big Beautiful RSC Members Meeting

It was a privilege to host White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Deputy Chief of Staff James Blair at this week's Republican Study Committee (RSC) members meeting, where we focused on advancing President Trump's America First agenda. Following their remarks, the RSC also welcomed FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino for an in-depth member briefing on domestic security priorities.

This week's meeting showcased the strong partnership between the RSC and the Trump Administration as we fight to fulfill the promises made to voters across the country in November. As Chairman of the RSC, I am proud that our members are working around the clock to deliver historic victories for the American people by getting the One Big Beautiful Bill across the finish line and securing the homeland from foreign adversaries and domestic threats.

Sounding the Alarm on the Urgent Need for U.S. Drone Defenses

This week, I joined 24 of my colleagues in sending a letter to U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem inquiring about the status of defense measures for U.S. military installations, government buildings, and critical infrastructure from the threat of drones.

This letter follows a growing number of drone attacks launched by Israel and Ukraine to penetrate deep into Iranian and Russian territory, respectively.

Addressing Burdensome Environmental Regulations on Businesses

This week, I participated in a House Energy and Commerce Environment Subcommittee hearing titled "A Decade Later: A Review of Congressional Action, Environmental Protection Agency Rules, and Beneficial Use Opportunities for Coal Ash."

During the hearing, I heard from witnesses on how burdensome legacy rules have negatively affected their companies, both operationally and financially. I remain committed in Congress to rolling back burdensome regulations crippling American companies.

Calling for Larger Investments in U.S. Air Power

This week, I penned an op-ed in The Hill with retired U.S. Air Force Lt. General David Deptula, outlining how the spectacular airstrike we witnessed last week that successfully destroyed Iran's nuclear facilities should be a wake-up call if we are serious about preparing for sustained conflict with adversaries like China.

We must invest in U.S. Air Power because, to put it simply, we do not have the depth to do this kind of operation repeatedly, or at scale.

In addition to this, I also penned an op-ed in Newsweek, highlighting how American airpower successfully obliterated Iran's nuclear facilities, and praising Operation Midnight Hammer's precision airstrikes that eliminated Iran's imminent nuclear threat when intelligence showed the regime was weeks from weapons completion. Read the full op-ed here.

Recent Appearances on Fox News and Fox Business

As the only trained 5th-generation fighter pilot in Congress who has spent nearly two decades flying the F-22, including several combat missions in the Middle East, I joined several shows on Fox and Fox Business this week to discuss the latest developments in the Middle East.
