100 days later: President Trump’s effect on The Permian Basin
Odessa, Texas,
April 30, 2025
Energy Dominance is one of many focuses on President Trump’s agenda. In January President Donald Trump began his second term in office and hit the ground running. Trump began his term signing a number of executive orders on his first day back in the White House, especially presidential directives centered around energy dominance. Permian Basin representative, Congressman August Pfluger, has backed President Trump’s direction he has taken when it comes to the oil and gas industry. Pfluger said in a statement, quote: “President Trump is turning campaign promises into measurable outcomes. With a Republican Congress working in tandem, we have begun reversing the damage done under the previous administration and laying the groundwork for a stronger, safer, and more self-reliant America. The first 100 days have made one thing abundantly clear: under Republican leadership, commonsense is being restored, and the American people are once again being prioritized. Change is never easy, but President Trump’s willingness to shake up a broken system has already produced tangible, meaningful victories and has set the tone for where we are going. Illegal border crossings have dropped to historic lows, energy production is surging in the Permian Basin, and Texas values are no longer under siege—they’re leading the way,” said Congressman August Pfluger. Below is a brief list of Trump’s executive order’s executed in his first 100 days in office. January 20, 2025 On Inauguration Day, January 20, 2025, President Trump’s first action item as president was “Unleashing American energy”. Trump set to make efforts for exploration and production on federal lands, establish the U.S. as a leading producer of oil, and protect the country by making sure there is reliable energy for Americans. Trump’s order also called for regulations on the energy sector to be verified with the standing laws. All agencies were told to review any regulation, orders, guidance, policies, or settlements to look for anything imposing undue burden on domestic energy resources. February 14, 2025 The National Energy Dominance Council was established. The goal of the council is to expand all forms of reliable and affordable energy production and lower energy prices for Americans. March 20, 2025 Trump issued measures to increase American mineral production. The goal is to take immediate action to facilitate domestic mineral production to the maximum possible extent by significantly reducing U.S. reliance on foreign nations. April 8, 2025 The President took steps to prevent state overreach from the American energy industry. The White House said that there are some states that are using state laws to supersede federal energy production particularly oil, natural gas, coal, hydropower, geothermal, biofuel, critical mineral, and nuclear energy resources. April 28, 2025 The President enacted to enforce commonsense rules for American truck drivers. President Trump aims to start upholding the safety enforcement regulations that ensure that anyone behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle is properly qualified including Proficiency in English to protect passengers and understand all traffic laws clearly. |
