Welcome back to the weekly Pfluger Fly-By, a roundup of events and updates to keep you informed about everything I'm doing week by week to represent you in Congress.
It was another busy week in Washington! This week, my legislation to prohibit noncitizens from voting in D.C. local elections passed the U.S. House of Representatives, I led a hearing to assess the heightened threat of antisemitic terrorist attacks, and I participated in a hearing with U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright. I also introduced legislation to keep foreign adversaries and terrorist sympathizers out of America, met with TX-11's 2025 Congressional Art Competition winner, was named MVP of the GOP Congressional Baseball Team, met with many Texans, and more!
I've included some photos and highlights from the week below. You'll also find information on how my office can assist you with any federal issues you may be facing. As always, please don't hesitate to contact my office if we can ever be of assistance.
Best,
My Response to Israel's Strikes on Iran
President Trump was clear when he called for the complete and permanent suspension of Iranās nuclear program. Iran has not only ignored America's good-faith diplomatic efforts, but it has also taken aggressive steps in the opposite direction. Just this week, for the first time in nearly two decades, the International Atomic Energy Agency formally declared Iran to be in violation of its nuclear nonproliferation commitments. In addition to this unsettling development, the terrorist regime announced plans to construct a new enrichment facility just this week.
In response, Israel launched overnight military strikes, successfully eliminating some of Iranās top military leaders, damaging one of its nuclear sites, and preventing Iranās ability to retaliate by taking out missile launchers in Iran. Let me be clear: Israel has the absolute right to defend itself, and I proudly stand with our ally as it confronts the existential threat posed by a nuclear-armed Iran. I applaud the bravery of our Israeli friends, including, Prime Minister Netanyahu, the IDF, and the Mossad, and will pray for their continued success and protection as I closely monitor the situation.
Congress and all of America must stand with Israel today and always. I will continue to be a strong voice for Israel in Congress and renew my call for the complete and total dismantling of Iran's nuclear program. Iran must never have any capability to enrich uranium, and Congress must act now to reimpose a maximum pressure campaign against Iran. Over 60 days ago, Iran was given a choice, and once again, it has chosen to be an enemy of the free world. I urge the ayatollahs to reconsider and take immediate steps toward peace.
Blocking Noncitizens from Voting in our Nation's Capital
This week, my legislation to block noncitizens from voting in Washington, D.C., passed out of the U.S. House of Representatives by a bipartisan vote of 266-148.
The radical D.C. City Council decided to allow noncitizensāincluding illegal aliens and foreign agentsāto vote in local elections. Even worse, they then proceeded to encourage noncitizens to vote for Mayor, Attorney General, and more. It's no secret that local elections determine critical matters, and allowing noncitizens to vote in them opens Pandoraās box to D.C.ās already radical local policies, diluting the voting power of citizen voters.
I applaud the House for taking action to defend that power and restore the sanctity of the voting process by passing my legislation this week. It's common sense: Only American citizens should be able to vote in U.S. elections. Anyone who voted against my bill voted for the transfer of political power away from legal voters.
You can read more about my bill in The Daily Caller here. Additionally, you can watch my floor remarks in support of the legislation here or by clicking the image below.
Addressing the Rise of Antisemitism Against the Jewish Community
As Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security's Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, I led a hearing this week to assess the heightened threat of antisemitic terrorist attacks in the United States. This hearing came in the wake of the recent attacks in Washington, D.C., and Boulder, Colorado.
During the hearing, we examined how extremist groups and foreign terrorist organizations have fueled antisemitic and anti-Israel violence since the October 7th attacks on Israel. Antisemitic violence and harassment will not, and cannot, remain unchecked in the United States of America, and I was proud to lead this timely and critical hearing.
The Faulkner Focus and Special Report highlighted the hearing, and it was televised on Fox News. You can also watch my full opening remarks during the hearing here or by clicking the image below.
Energy and Commerce Hearing with Secretary Chris Wright
As a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, I participated in the Committee's Energy Subcommittee hearing this week titled, "The Fiscal Year 2026 Department of Energy Budget."
Secretary of Energy Chris Wright testified before the subcommittee. During the hearing, I asked the Secretary about his top priorities for the year, for an update on the Mexico Pacific LNG export site, and how we can legislatively protect the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

Congressional Art Competition Winner in Washington
I had a fantastic time welcoming Korbin Jastrow, the winner of the 2025 Congressional Art Competition in Texas's 11th Congressional District, to Washington, D.C., for the Congressional Art Contest Winners' Celebration this week!
During her visit, Korbin was able to personally show me her winning artwork, which will hang in the U.S. Capitol for the next year. Congratulations again to Korbin on this wonderful achievement!
Terrorist Inadmissibility Codification Act
I introduced the Terrorist Inadmissibility Codification Act to keep foreign adversaries and terrorist sympathizers out of America. The legislation would expand current U.S. law to prohibit members, officers, officials, representatives, and spokesmen of Hamas, Hezbollah, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Palestine Islamic Jihad from entering or remaining in the U.S.
There is no place in America for foreign adversaries or terrorist sympathizers. As our nation faces a disturbing rise in antisemitic and illegal alien terror attacks, along with increasing pro-Hamas sentiment on our college campuses, we must take action to ensure our borders are secure from those wishing harm against American citizens.

Meeting with Texans in Washington
This week, I met with several community leaders and partners in Washington, which is always a pleasure. Thank you all for taking the time to discuss how we can implement smart, commonsense policies to strengthen Texas-11!
Serving Together as a Family
I was blessed to be joined by my wife Camille, our three daughters, and other close family members and dear friends this week in Washington for the 2025 Congressional Baseball Game for Charity! Their support means the absolute world to me.
This yearās Congressional Baseball Game was another huge win for Republicans! You can read more about the game in San Angelo LIVE here.
