Rep. Pfluger Hosts U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11), Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, hosted U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright at the Committee's weekly meeting to lay out an aggressive path forward for American energy production. American energy independence has never been more critical to our national security and economic prosperity, and Rep. Pfluger is committed to advancing the Trump Administration's energy agenda in Congress.

"Under Joe Biden, America went from energy dominance to energy dependence overnight. Those days are over," said Chairman Pfluger. "While Biden begged our adversaries for oil, President Trump unleashed American energy independence – and he's just getting started. Today's meeting with Secretary Wright sends a crystal-clear message: we're done playing nice. We’re unleashing American energy production. End of story. We've already passed my Protecting American Energy Production Act to protect fracking from federal overreach, but that's just the beginning. Working alongside this administration, we will take President Trump's energy revolution and cement it into law. The radical left's energy nightmare is the American people's dream come true. The Permian Basin is ready to roar, our workers are ready to drill, and House Republicans are ready to bulldoze every single Biden regulation standing in their way. The era of American energy surrender is over – the era of American energy dominance is back."

"House Republicans know that American energy is the backbone of a strong economy, lower prices, and national security," said U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright. "During President Trump’s first term, our nation achieved energy dominance—and we’re ready to do it again. Thank you to RSC Chairman August Pfluger and House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Brett Guthrie for helping lead the charge and inviting me to speak at the Republican Study Committee briefing on Capitol Hill today. I look forward to working with House Republicans to unleash American energy and restore our nation’s energy security."
