Unlocking Domestic LNG Exports Act Passes House

This week, the U.S. House passed my legislation to reverse President Biden's liquefied natural gas (LNG) export ban and unleash American LNG to lower energy costs while advancing U.S. energy security and the security of our allies.

President Biden has used every weapon and every tool available to him to make producing American energy more difficult. His decision to ban future American U.S. exports is just the latest strike in his efforts to appease his radical climate interest groups who refuse to accept the reality that American energy is the cleanest, most secure option for the U.S. and our allies. The decision to ban exports creates uncertainty and discourages investments that would otherwise create jobs and expand the supply of natural gas.

I am proud that the House passed my legislation to promote American energy dominance and stand up for jobs in the Permian Basin.

Watch here or below for my floor remarks in support of the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act of 2024.

House Votes to Impeach Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

The U.S. House of Representatives voted to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas in a 214-213 vote. The impeachment articles now head to the Senate for a possible trial.

9 million illegal aliens have entered our country since President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas took office, including 300 people who match the terror watch list. It took less than 20 bad actors to orchestrate the attacks on September 11th that sent me into 20 years of service to this country to protect us overseas. Yet, Secretary Mayorkas is allowing millions of unvetted individuals into our country by refusing to enforce the laws on the books.

Not only is this a systemic refusal to follow the law, but it's also the systemic deconstruction of the rule of law that eventually will eat away at this country. It is a sad day when Congress is left with no options but to impeach a Cabinet Secretary, but House Republicans will deliver accountability for the national security crisis at our border.

Frontera Healthcare in Washington

I had the opportunity to meet with Frontera Healthcare this week during their visit to our Nation's Capital. Throughout Texas-11, Frontera has several clinical locations that meet the needs of healthcare in our communities. We had a productive conversation on how Congress can better assist hospitals and clinics in rural areas. I was also delighted to have received the Distinguished Community Health Center Advocate Award for 2024. Thank you for stopping by to meet with me!

SBCD of Northwest Texas

The Northwest Small Business Development Center (SBCD) stopped by to see me during their time in Washington this week. The SBCD provides consulting, training, and research to small business owners throughout our district. One of their centers is located in Odessa and services several businesses in the start-up process. Thank you, SBCD, for meeting with me and discussing solutions to help small businesses grow and thrive. I will always be a strong supporter of business owners in Texas-11!

It was a pleasure to host three town halls last week in Ballinger, Eden, and Robert Lee. We had a productive conversation while I gave an update on the work being done in Washington for Texas-11. Thank you to all who attended and asked questions. I truly love this district, and it is an honor to represent you.
