Thursday, Congressman August Pfluger (TX-11) honored several local World War II veterans on the Floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in advance of Veterans Day.

Pfluger honored veterans Bill Womack, Phil George, Maynard Schwertner, Gilberto Torres, and J.L. Stevens, who all served their country with honor and bravery. These veterans dedicated their lives in service, not only to their country but also to their local communities in West Texas.

Rep. August Pfluger: “These are just a few of the thousands of heroic veterans from the 11th District who have served our country and made us proud. To all of our Nation’s Veterans—whether you fought in Afghanistan, Vietnam, or wherever your service took you, this country stands with you. Your valiance is not forgotten. Your sacrifice is valued. Thank you for keeping America safe and secure.”
