Pfluger Votes to Impeach DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas

WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative August Pfluger (TX-11) released a statement after the U.S. House voted to impeach Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The impeachment of Secretary Mayorkas follows a year-long investigation conducted by the House Homeland Security Committee on the consequences of the crisis at the southern border.

Rep. August Pfluger: "Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas deserved to be impeached. 9 million illegal aliens have entered our country since President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas took office, including 300 people who match the terror watch list. It took less than 20 bad actors to orchestrate the attacks on September 11th that sent me into 20 years of service to this country to protect us overseas. Yet, Secretary Mayorkas is allowing millions of unvetted individuals into our country by refusing to enforce the laws on the books. Not only is this a systemic refusal to follow the law, but it's also the systemic deconstruction of the rule of law that eventually will eat away at this country. It is a sad day when Congress is left with no options but to impeach a Cabinet Secretary, but House Republicans will deliver accountability for the national security crisis at our border."
